Emily King

 

27 year old, British International Event Rider. Emily is based near Chester, Cheshire where she runs a high level competition yard with partner Sam Ecroyd. Emily, who grew up in Devon, is the daughter of six times Olympic rider Mary King.

‘I have huge dreams and work extremely hard towards achieving them. I strive to become World No1, Olympic and World Champion, Burghley and Badminton winner and to become the best ever in our sport’.

Emily’s notable results to date - U25 National Champion, U21 National Champion, Junior and Young Rider European Gold and Silver medalist, 4th Pau CCI5* (where she was also the youngest competitor in the competition, by roughly 10 years, and also one of the youngest competitors to finish in the top 5 in history), 8th Pau CCI5*, 3rd in the Burgham CCI4*S and winner of The Grantham Cup CCI4*S in 2023.

Emily and her current top hose Valmy Biats have been selected for the World Class ‘Podium Potential’ programme for ‘2023-’25… which is a talent nurturing programme set out to guide top combinations towards Olympic and Senior GB Team attendances.

Emily’s 2024 campaign saw her solidify her position as a leading rider on the Eventing circuit with a 4th place at the prestigious 5* Badminton International Horse Trials aboard Valmy Biats as well as being longlisted for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Emily was part of the winning team and landed an individual 5th place representing Great Britain as part of the squad for CHIO Aachen, a key fixture in the international schedule.
